We have been fortunate enough to receive a couple of updates
on Charlotte while we waited for all the paperwork to be completed. These updates give us invaluable little insights
into her life.
Reading what her Nannies have to share about her is so much
fun. And it makes us laugh when we try
and read between the lines of what they might be trying to tell us.
For example on line says this:
“She can
imitate sounds, she can call out simple greetings and she understands the
meaning of “no”. “
Hmm, does this mean she needs to hear it often??
We are very impressed with what the nannies say our little
18 month old girl can do. They say she
can
- understand
what the nannies say, she can comply with simple instructions
- distinguish
between all of the children and nannies in her room and she can point them out
- say
“goodbye”
- wipe her
own nose and she can throw trash in a garbage can
- hold a pen
and draw lines
- she knows
which drawer each child’s clothing goes in
We have also been told that Charlotte is called “Mei Mei”
(said like May May) by her nannies.
That she eats 4 times a day and her favorite things to eat
are noodle, rice, dumpling, steamed
eggs.
And overall she is
very active and outgoing and healthy.
All of this bits of information also make me a little sad for what we are missing out on and that she is still alone.
We cannot wait to meet
this little girl!!! She is going to fit
into this family so perfectly.
We still have a
little time to wait but the time to get on a plane and go to China is growing
closer. The excitement and nerves are
overwhelming at times.
So excited for your family! Can't wait to see you hold her in your arms! Have a safe journey!
ReplyDeleteMei Mei in Chinese means little sister. Jie Jie means big sister.
